Reining, a western performance event designed to show the athletic ability of a ranch type horse in a show ring setting, is enjoyed by equine enthusiasts world wide. Pat St-Onge, specializing in reining horses, he has enjoyed success in this event nationally as well as internationally. As a member of team Canada he performed at the FEI recognized 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain and contributed to his teamʼs success as silver medalists. In 2008 he again represented Canada at the Reining World Championships in Manerbio, Italy where he placed in the top ten of the individual competition.Patʼs program is geared to the high dollar futurities and derbies for three, four, five and six year old reining horses. He has enjoyed success in events sanctioned by the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA ) as well as prestigious shows approved by the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA). He is known for producing highly trained consistent performers with staying power. Many of Patʼs past futurity and derby mounts are still going strong today and can be found winning across the country and overseas.
As a past NRHA approved judge, Pat knows every aspect of this event. As a sought after clinician (Pat has given clinics all over the World including England, USA, Canada and Mexico). He also teaches and coaches a few select non pros. His program offers the opportunity for reining enthusiasts to participate at every level, from the owner enjoying success while sitting in the stands to the non pro competitor successfully competing in the show pen.
